Outcome 4:4

Outcome 4:4 Children resource their own learning through connecting with people, place, technologies, natural and processed materials

During setting up this morning the children showed curiosity and excitement to see what was being set up on the table. They  helped by gathering items from around the room to add to the table.Through this one table set up, created many learning experiences and interests. Colours, counting, naming animals, social interaction, sharing, communication, creating with current resources, shapes.
CONNECTING WITH OUTCOMES
One example of 'Children resource their own learning', was evident when a child picked up all the curtain rings and counted as they were being place over the stacker pegs (bottom left).
EXAMPLE OF OBSERVATION/ FUTURE PLANNING

Adding a variety of items allowed me to observe what each child showed most interest in. Such as bottom left child has used the coloured pegs with board and curtain rings. I can then mark as an interest and add these to another set up experience in the near future. I had already placed coloured alphabet blocks from this child's previous interest. So him playing with the alphabet blocks AND NOW with the other items, his interests have been extended.
